Laurie Catherine Morrow, 86, of Cave Junction, OR, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021, at her home.
Laurie was born June 2, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA, to Godfrey and Reta Morgan. She grew up in Short Hills, NJ, with her older brother, Bob, and attended Stephens College in Missouri, where she met Roy Hatcher. Laurie and Roy married in 1954 and raised three sons, Russell, Brian, and Glenn, in a suburb outside of Chicago. She worked as a day care director before going back for her MA from Northern Illinois University and began working as a special education teacher. Roy died before his time in 1978 and Laurie moved to Phoenix, AZ, to be close to her parents. When her parents passed, she moved to Prescott, AZ, in 1985, where she met William Morrow and started work as a territory manager for National Federation of Independent Business. Laurie and Bill married in 1988 and stayed in Arizona until 1998, when they retired and moved to Cave Junction, OR, because she loved the climate and scenery. Laurie was outgoing and dynamic with a sense of humor and never did anything halfway. Dogs were her lifelong passion. She was a professional trainer, breeder, and handler who traveled through the Midwest, Northwest, and Canada for shows. She also loved gardening, cooking, quilting, and playing pool at the senior center. Laurie made a wide circle of friends through her interests and treasured those friendships.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; brother, Bob Morgan; three sons, Russell, Brian, and Glenn Hatcher; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
