Ronald Verne Busey, 89, of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. A native Oregonian, he was born in Salem on August 31, 1930, to Reginald and Viola Busey. His younger brother, Robert, was later born in 1932. Ronald graduated Salem Senior High School in 1948. He then went to work for the Oregon Department of Transportation. In 1950, he took a leave of absence from ODOT to enlist in the U.S. Navy. He served three years in the Pacific, stationed in Japan. He was a radio operator division chief. After his time serving, he went back to work for ODOT State Highway Division building roads throughout the state. He retired in 1993 as Project Manager in the Central Point office. On Febuary 23, 1962 he married Dorothy Anne Matthews. They had two children. His hobbies included woodworking, hiking, photography, and winemaking. He also enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy, who passed October 17, 2014. He is survived by his son, Brad Busey, of Salem, Oregon; daughter Ronda Busey of Grants Pass, Oregon; as well as four grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren. A service will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at 1 p.m., at Stephens Family Chapel, 1629 Williams Hwy., Grants Pass, OR 97527. Ronald is forever loved and missed.
