Barbara Jean Abbey

Barbara Jean Abbey, 73, of Selma died Nov. 24, 2006 at her home. A private family memorial will be held. Barbara was born on Jan. 24, 1933 in Delano, CA to Cletus and Evelyn Dyar. On Nov. 23, 1951 she married David M. Abbey, in Delano, CA. They moved to Selma, OR in 1986 from Simi Valley, CA. She worked for the Simi Valley Unified School District and the Illinois Valley School District. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and playing Bingo with her Bingo Buddies. She will be dearly missed by her husband David, her 4 brothers Don, Bruce, David and Mickey Dyar, daughters, Laura Engi of Northridge, CA, and Karen Schubkegel of Durango, CO and son, David M. Abbey Jr. of Simi Valley, CA, as well as her 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Contributions can be made to Asante Hospice, Caregivers Fund, 500 SW Ramsey Ave., Grants Pass, OR 97527.
