Bayard Scott Ryder passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 65 at his home in Grants Pass, OR. He was born on October 3, 1959, in Burbank, CA to the late Bayard Tod Ryder and Helen Ann (Ferriot) Ryder.

Scott spent over 30 years as an aerospace tool design engineer, contributing to major aircraft programs including the Boeing B2 Bomber, Boeing 747, 767 Tanker, and the Embraer E-Jet series. A longtime employee of Northrop Grumman and later Triumph Aerostructures, he specialized in developing complex tooling systems used in aircraft assembly and was an expert in digital manufacturing techniques. Throughout his career, he was known for his precision, innovation, and deep knowledge of aircraft manufacturing.

He enjoyed cars in all forms- especially Formula 1 and Indie Car racing, birds of prey and reptiles, taking his flat-coated retrievers to dog shows, the Grateful Dead, and being a handy man around the house.

Scott is survived by his wife, Mary (Bloemendaal) Ryder; his children, Jessica (Rasmusson) Chambliss, Brianna Ryder, and Mitchel Ryder; his sister Cheryl (Ryder) Gilmore, and brother-in-law Scott Gilmore.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, sharp mind, a love of both machines and animals, and his striking penmanship.
