Calvin Emerson Kinney passed away peacefully in his Grants Pass, Oregon home with his wife Susan by his side on August 29th 2026 at the age of 83 after a long battle with Polymyositis. Cal and Susan were intrepid explorers remodeling and living in homes in Nevada, Colorado, Idaho and finally Oregon. Cal was a visionary, an entrepreneur, sportsman and golfer. He started many successful businesses, including a billboard company, several casinos, newspapers, and his last love the cattle breeding business. He continued to work with his sharp mind up until just weeks before he passed. He was loved and will be remembered fondly by his family and friends especially those golfers he waved at daily from his living room chair just feet from the 8th fairway at the Grants Pass Golf Club as they passed by his home every day. Susan will still be golfing with her friends and when at home she will continue to return lost golf balls and offer homemade chocolate chip cookies to wayward golfers wandering near the 8th fairway.
