Carol McClanahan

Carol Jane "Cookie" McClanahan, of Grants Pass, passed away on January 9th, 2026. She was 82 years of age.

Cookie was born July 11th, 1943, in Santa Monica, California to Arthur (Jack) and Floy Townsend. She was the eldest of six children. She goes to join sisters Beverly and Janice. She is survived by sisters Nancy, Gayle and Jacqueline.

Cookie was married to Jay D. McClanahan from 1981 until his passing inn June of 2025. The two lived in many locations in the west with Jay working as a lineman, but Grants Pass was always home.

Cookie raised three children: Micheal, Sherri and Robin. She also raised three grandchildren: Courtney, Trinity and Tyler. Cookie loved family and all the drama that comes with it. She was a great gossip.

Cookie always maintained a comfortable home, always had cats and dogs, always kept a garden and she was always here for us. She is greatly missed.

A service will be held on January 31st at 1:00 PM at Stephens Family Chapel. All are welcome.
