A proud native of Grants Pass, Cheryl spent her early years in the house built by her great grandfather in 1923, and she carried with her the rich legacy of her family, who have called this place home for four generations. After completing her undergraduate studies in psychology and earning a Master's degree in counseling from the University of Oregon, Cheryl dedicated her career to helping others as a mental health counselor. She operated a private counseling office in Grants Pass and later spent her final years as a counselor for AllCare, where her warmth and expertise touched the lives of many.

Cheryl was more than just a therapist; she was a beacon of hope and support during some of the darkest times. Her work with the American Red Cross during the aftermath of September 11th showcased her unwavering commitment to her community and nation, as she provided comfort to families grieving the loss of loved ones. She also lent her skills to support victims of major wildfires, demonstrating her deep empathy and dedication to healing.

An adventurous spirit, Cheryl cherished the opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally, often accompanied by friends she held dear. Her connections in Grants Pass were profound, as she maintained lasting friendships that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Cheryl was an active member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Rotary Club, bringing her passion for service and community engagement to all she did.

Cheryl is survived by her loving sister, Zandra Brown, who will carry on her spirit. She is also survived by her niece and nephew.

Cheryl will be deeply missed, but her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to helping others will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
