Cooper Lee Dishmon

October 29, 1964 — April 13, 2018

Cooper Lee Dishmon, 53 years old passed away on April 13th 2018 at his home in Grants Pass. He was born October 29, 1964 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Allen & Joan Dishmon Cooper was born a fighter. He was given many battles in his life, He was most proud of conquering his addiction. He had 498 days of being clean and sober at the time of death before he lost his final fight with cancer. When Cooper started his program to gain sobriety it didn't take long for those around him to see that he was a kind, genuine and caring man. Those he met through sobriety quickly went from an acquaintance; to a friend; and then they were family. He inspired so many people who watched Cooper fight to become a better person. Cooper served in the National Guard for 12 years. When he was honorable discharged he was a Sergeant. He worked many jobs from roofing to tree falling. His newest job that he truly loved was as a machinist at Oregon Swiss Precision. It was a very short time working there when he was diagnosed as having cancer. It came on fierce and Cooper did his best to beat the disease. His loving wife Tammi was by his side throughout with his two dogs with him every day. He also had his family and friends with him too. Cooper loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved fishing and playing pool. He enjoyed being involved with his NA groups and catching as many meetings as he could. He was very proud of graduating from the Josephine County Drug Court this year. Cooper is survived by his wife Tammi and his brothers Sam, Chad, and Chris of Grants Pass. He was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Joan along with his oldest brother Skip. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 PM at the Reinhart Park (All Sports Park) in the Main Gazebo when you first drive in. Please bring a potluck item and your favorite memories of Cooper to share. We are asking that donations be made to the Josephine County Drug Court in memory of Cooper Dishmon.
