Edgar Newton Starns, 77, passed in peace on Friday Feb. 22, 2019 from COPD at Asante three Rivers Hospital with his son, Derek Starns and daughter in law, Breonna Riley by his side.
Ed was born May 27, 1941 in Grants Pass, OR to parents Jesse and Hazel Starns. They had 7 children, Ed included.
He lived his entire life in the southern Oregon mountains and always had a love for his animals and the freedom to live with simplicity. He was quite the character and always said things that made you laugh, even years later.
He attended Grants Pass High School and worked most of his younger life doing mill work. Eventually he retired that lifestyle and became a fire watchman, moving around the mountains, hunting & fishing, living on his terms. Ed had a colorful life.
Ed married Sue Walden in May of 1966 and had two children, Derek & Kimberly Starns. He has left behind sisters; Sandy Felgentrager, Dorthy Johns & Betty Mayfield; his only grandchild, Tyler Flint & many cousins with multiple nieces & nephews. He has many friends & families that loved him dearly.
We will always carry our memories of Ed in our hearts and may he rest in peace until we meet again.
