Elizabeth (Betty) Troiano Gooding, 83 of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2017. Betty was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in Irondequoit, NY. After completing a degree at the Rochester Institute of Technology she wed Dennis Gooding, her devoted husband of 60 years. The family lived in Williamsville, NY and then moved to Acton, MA where she was an active parishioner at St. Elizabeth's church for 30 years. She volunteered for various charities and held an administrative position at Helio Precision Products in Bedford, MA. In 1994, Betty and Dennis moved to Grants Pass, OR. Betty was much loved for her fun-loving personality. She was kind, generous, witty and self-deprecating, always deflecting compliments with a "who me?" or a funny face. She and Dennis traveled extensively throughout the USA, the Bahamas and Europe. She was an avid reader and enjoyed learning languages including Spanish, French and Italian. Betty was a loving Mother and Grand-Mother. She is survived by her husband Dennis, daughters Patricia Gooding (Cohasset, MA) and Elizabeth Gooding (Pekar) granddaughter Alexandra Pekar (Newton, MA) and brother Richard Troiano (Austin,TX). She is preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth (Cory) and Luigi Troiano, two brothers Lewis Troiano, formerly of Austin, TX and Donald Troiano, formerly of Birmingham, AL. The family is celebrating her life privately. Memorial donations may be made to the Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center or the Women's Crisis Support Team of Grants Pass. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Norris Manor for their support to Betty in her final days.
