Else Marit Froehlich

Else Marit Froehlich, of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away peacefully October 11, 2026, with her daughters by her side. She was 87 years young.

Born and raised on a farm in Norway, she left home at 14 yrs. old to work in Oslo and later travelled to USA, where she began cosmetology school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Here she met and married Erwin Froehlich. Her cosmetology career lasted 45 years and included proprietorship of two hair salons in Pennsylvania..

Else was a strong, passionate, and creative woman! She loved being active with skiing (both Nordic and alpine), golfing, and cycling being her favorite activities. Else was a long-time member of the Huntingdon Valley Ski Club in Pennsylvania as well as the Sons of Norway organization, which kept her tied to her Norwegian roots.

In Grants Pass, she treasured her weekly hikes and friendships with the Sole Sisters hiking group. She also cherished the friendships she made with women while golfing at both Dutcher Creek and Grants Pass Golf Club.

She is survived by her daughters Monika Froehlich, DPM (partner Judy Wolff) of Grants Pass, Oregon and Britt Molitoris (husband Michael) of North Carolina. She was also the Bestemor (Norwegian for grandmother) of Hagen, Bryce, and Teag Molitoris of North Carolina and had many nieces, nephews and extended family in Norway. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marius and Olga, as well as her nine siblings of Norway.

Else Marit's Celebration of Life will be planned for the summer of 2027 to allow family to be present.
