Garry Dee Seigler, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Grants Pass, Oregon, on March 31, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 4, 1939, in Napa, California, Garry was a lifelong adventurer, devoted family man, and passionate sports enthusiast.
At just 17 years old, Garry began his service as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army, a role that took him across Europe and helped shape his love for travel and new experiences. Following his military service, he worked at Mare Island until its closure and later continued his career with Kaiser Steel, where he eventually retired.
Garry remained deeply engaged in his community, especially through sports. Whether playing or cheering from the sidelines, his enthusiasm never faded, and he remained an active participant and devoted fan well into his fifties. He had a special love for golf and spent many happy days on the course. He was also a dedicated season pass holder at Sears Point Raceway, where he enjoyed the thrill of watching the races alongside his son Mitch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, his first wife Beth, and their children Mitchel and Deann, as well as his son Ricky.
Garry is survived by his beloved wife of over 45 years, Sharon; children Ann (John) and Peter; and a large, loving extended family. He leaves behind grandchildren Heather, Tanya, Amanda, Leslie, Daniel, John Murray, Josh, Mika, Hailey, Tim, Dahl, and Lexie; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Adilynn Rose. He is also remembered fondly by countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Garry will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his deep love for family, and his unwavering enthusiasm for life. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
