George W. Hill

George Warren Hill, 82, of Gold Hill passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, June 30, 2008, 10:00 AM at Rogue River Assembly of God. Interment with Military honors will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery. George was born on May 31, 1926 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Carl and Alberta Hill. He served in the US Navy during WWII from September 7, 1944 until his honorable discharge on March 20, 1946. George married Phyllis Allene Chase on April 25, 1952 in Springfield, Oregon. George attended Mississippi State, Oregon State and received his Master Degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. George worked for the US Geological Survey for 25 years retiring in 1988. George enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading. He was a member of the Rogue River Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife Phyllis A. Hill of Gold Hill; daughter, Julie A. Ibrahim of Martinez, CA; son, George R. Hill of Pollock Pines, CA; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
