January 26, 1948 - September 24, 2023
Harland Kim Watson was born on January 26, 1948 to the parents of Jamie and Harland (Doc) Watson in Mendota, IL and passed on a Sunday at his home in Grants Pass, September 24, 2023.
Harland is survived by 7 siblings: Jesse, George, Ann, Richard, Mary, Lisa, and Chris
Two sons: Stephen and James
Three grandchildren: Courtney, Kittina, and Brandon,
One great-granddaughter: Sabrina
Along with a plethora of nieces and nephews.
He was a retired Journeyman Electrician, a craftsman of his trade who took great pride in his work and instilled this work ethic in his two boys who will be forever grateful for his life's examples.
Well known to be skilled and masterful orator, you'd often hear him with great purpose, learned reading, and good humor, instilling his pearls of wisdom..... if not conveyed through a serious, direct to the point approach, then it was dispersed through what I feel was his favorite medium, story telling.
Often you would hear him make direct quotes from his favorite passages (from some/out) of his favorite books, or break into song from one of his favorite singers.
Sometimes you would hear him quote poetry from poems that he liked, and he even had some of his own poetry published in one of the Electrical Trade Magazines.
Kim was a good son, an amazing father, brother, a family pillar who's strength, wisdom, kindness, and good humor will be forever missed.
Harland was an amazing man who touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
There are no amount of words that can describe the loss we are now all left with....
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Stephens Family Chapel.
