Harry Albert Lang

August 29, 1930 — November 6, 2022

Harry A. Lang, Sr.

Harry Albert Lang, Sr., of Medford, OR, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 6, 2022.  He was 92.  Harry was born in Eureka, CA on August 29, 1930 to Harry and Edith Mable Lang.  After the death of his father, Harry worked as teenager to help meet the needs of his family.  During the Korean Conflict, Harry joined the United States Army and served for 5 years on the island of Okinawa.

Harry was a loyal, hardworking man, as shown by his 18 years working as a timber cutter for the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company in Central Oregon.  It was during his time as a timber cutter that Harry received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  In 1992 Harry and Jeanette married, and they served the Lord as a Christian couple.  Harry was a loving husband and a devoted father.

For nearly 30 years, Harry was a faithful member of Harvest Baptist Temple of Medford.  The Lord blessed Harry with a creative eye and a steady hand.  Harry put those talents to good use painting and giving away hundreds of Scripture art paintings—Bible verses in an artistic setting.

Harry loved to talk about the Lord.  He read his Bible and prayed daily.  Harry also cared about people.  He was a sweet man with a winning smile, always kind and gentle, friendly and helpful, active and witty.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Edith Mable Lang; his wife Arlene Jo Ann Lang; his siblings Lelah Barnes, Ronald, Winther, James Lang, Janet Craine, Betty Cace, Rosalie Seigle, and Clydene Wilson; his son-in-law Mick Railey; and his great-granddaughter Faith Railey.

Harry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jeanette Lang of Medford, OR; his children Rayne Railey of Eugene, OR; Aaron Lang of Medford, OR; and Harry Lang, Jr; his sister Peggy Chartraw (Gary) of Albany, OR; his grandchildren Michael, Christopher, Amy, Brock, Brooke, and Fonda; his great-grandchildren Hunter, Tatum, Mason, Jamison, Brenna, and Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.  Harry was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at Harvest Baptist Temple, Medford, OR on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with a private interment at the National Cemetery in Eagle Point, OR at a later date.

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body,

and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).
