Jacob "Jake" Meyer

Jacob L. "Jake" Meyer, 72, of Grants Pass died Thursday, April 14, 2011, in Grants Pass. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Old Barn Tavern 2039 Redwood Avenue, Grants Pass, Oregon 97527. He was born on August 22, 1938 to John and Anna Meyer in Chicago, Illinois. In 1963 he moved from Vallejo, California to Grants Pass. Jake worked as a Horse Farrier for 40 years, truck driver and 5 years for Three Rivers School District. On October 17, 1977 in Carson City, Nevada he married Donna Brown who survives. He enjoyed horses, rodeos, horse racing, playing cribbage, spending time with family and friends and was an avid pool player. He attended St. Anne Catholic Church and was a past member of the Elks. In addition to his wife survivors include two daughters Julie Westermann of Eugene, Oregon and Tamara Preciado of Grants Pass; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
