Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts and a lifetime of cherished memories, we announce the passing of Rebecca Lynn Wright Mead, who passed away peacefully at her home in Rogue River, Oregon, on October 27, 2026, at the age of 71. Lovingly known as Becci to family and friends, Mom to her children, and Mamaw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she held a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Born on June 15, 1955, in Sherman, Texas, to J.P. and Laura Wright, Becci was truly one of a kind.

Funny, feisty, loving, and just stubborn enough to keep everyone on their toes, Becci had a personality as big as her heart. She was never afraid to speak her mind, and her laughter and larger-than-life spirit made her unforgettable. She loved listening to music, dancing, and having a good time. Always the life of the party, she brought joy, laughter, a little sass, and some tie-dye wherever she went.

Becci was preceded in death by her beloved son, Chad Christian Key; her daughter-in-law, Andrea Leigh Dollins Key; her parents, J.P. and Laura Wright; her in-laws, Mel and Melba Mead; her niece, Andrea Dunham; and her brother-in-law, John Brown.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ricky Lane Mead of Rogue River, Oregon; her sons, Justin Key of Sherman, Texas, and Jerry Hinton and Shan Zabel of Van Alstyne, Texas; and her daughter, Becci Ann Enders of Sayville, New York.

She is also survived by her sister, Janet Brown of Reno, Nevada; her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Beverly Wright of Tom Bean, Texas; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Fawnda and Kevin Shalahami, Janice and Chris Hanson, and Linda and Butch Gilbert, all of Rogue River, Oregon.

Becci also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, along with many cherished family members and friends.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in imagining the beautiful reunion waiting for her in Heaven. After time spent apart, a mother is once again holding her beloved son, Chad, in her arms. No more distance, no more tears, and no more goodbyes.

So when you hear a good song, turn it up a little louder. When you feel like dancing, dance. Laugh often, love fiercely, and live with a little sass - just like Becci did.

Rest easy, Mom. Dance among the stars. This isn't goodbye, but until we meet again. We love you always.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date, when family and friends can come together to honor their memory and celebrate the special moments shared throughout their life.
