Rick Wood, 76, passed away at home on June 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in Grants Pass, Oregon.


Rick was born on October 5, 1949, in Chico, California, to Tom and Laura Wood. He graduated from McKinleyville High School before being drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served for two years, including a tour in Korea.


Rick worked at Miller Redwood and Timber Products for many years. He enjoyed golfing, playing pool, watching his favorite TV shows, and, most of all, spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family.


Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Cantwell; his father, Tom Wood; his stepfather, Al Cantwell; his brothers, Tom Wood, Joe Wood, and Mike Cantwell; and his great-grandson, Thomas Williams IV.


He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Peggy; his children, Tom (Michelle) Williams, Shannon (Jeff) Linden, Traci (Brent) McGurk, and Nicole Brackney; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his sister, Karen (Howard) Watson; and extended family members and dear friends whose lives he touched.


Rick attended River Valley Church, Redwood Campus, where his faith grew throughout his life.


A funeral service celebrating Rick's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at Stephens Family Chapel, 1629 Williams Highway, Grants Pass, Oregon. A celebration of life reception will follow at the Josephine County Fairgrounds in the Flower Building, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Rick's life together.
