In Loving Memory of Sharon Carlson (Fennell)
April 11, 1959 – May 9, 2025
Sharon Carlson, a devoted wife, loving mother, Grammy, sister, and faithful servant of Christ,
went home to be with Jesus on May 9, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born on April 11, 1959, in the small farming town of Reedley, California, Sharon grew up rooted
in faith, family, and community—values that shaped the woman she would become. On January
21, 1979, she married the love of her life, Terry Carlson, at the Chapel of the Bells in Reno,
Nevada. Their love story spanned over 46 years and was marked by deep commitment, laughter,
and shared purpose.
Sharon and Terry built their dream home in Grants Pass, Oregon, where their lives became a
testimony of compassion and service. Together, they opened their hearts and home as foster
parents for six years, caring for children in need and offering them love and stability during
difficult times. Their heart for children also led them to serve for many years with Royal Family
Kids Camp, a ministry dedicated to providing hope and healing to children in the foster care
system.
A longtime member of Parkway Christian Center, Sharon served faithfully for over 25 years. Her
talents and generosity blessed many as she worked in the Media Department, sang joyfully in the
Choir, and led the church’s quilting guild, where quilts were lovingly made for cancer patients.
Her hands were never idle—each stitch in her quilts carried her compassion and prayers.
Sharon was also an active member of the Mountain Stars Quilting Guild and the Piecemakers
Quilt Club, where she built lasting friendships and continued using her creativity to serve others.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Terry Carlson; her three children and their spouses—
Brandon and Crystle, Farron and Meadow, and Kendra and Nate; twelve treasured grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and nurtured. Sharon also leaves behind
her two sisters, Shielah Morgan and Shaena Southard, and her loving mother-in-law, Reba
Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Sue Fennell, whose example of love and
faith laid the foundation for her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 5792 Riverbanks Rd, Grants
Pass, OR 97527, where family and friends will gather to honor Sharon’s remarkable life and
legacy.
Sharon Carlson lived a life marked by love, service, and unwavering faith. Her legacy continues
through every life she touched—with a kind word, a warm quilt, a safe home, and a heart full of
grace.
