In loving memory of Steven (Steve) Michael Wallace.
It is with deep heartbreak that we announce the passing of Steve Wallace, on July 27, 2026 at the age of 66. Or more affectionately known by his grandkids as Papa Steve or Pops.
Born on March 11, 1960 in Bandon, Oregon to Audrey Curtis Wallace and Bob Wallace. Steve walked a difficult road, but chose to be a good, hard working man when he became a father.
He lived most of his life in Grants Pass, Oregon and was a huge Cavemen sports fanatic. He worked hard for his family all his life. Running his own landscaping business, working long hours to make sure his children had a better life. He was a family man through and through. He coached his son and granddaughter's sports teams and supported his daughters' athletics as well by being the loudest cheer/track dad there ever was. He even signed up for cheer patrol. He honestly cheered on any kid that was around and made sure every kid knew there was someone there cheering for them or just to give them a pat on the back. He really was everyone's cheerleader. You could always find him Friday nights at the Cavemen football games or really at any athletic event at the high school. At home he would rock out to Ozzy Osbourne and he shared his love for Ozzy with all of us and had us all singing crazy train from a young age.
He was so proud to share in all his kids and grandkids accomplishments. He would tell anyone that would listen. And he sure did like to talk about anything and everything especially the ducks. He had a larger than life personality. If you were a fellow duck fan, you were a friend. But honestly Steve had the biggest heart and loved everyone.
He is survived by his brothers Curtis Wallace (Diane) and Daniel Wallace (Renee), his daughter Heather Wallace Hargraves (Pete), his son Justin Wallace, his granddaughter that became his daughter at 3 years old Bryanna (Anna) Wallace, his grandaughters Keira Wallace and Kalia Everette, his grandsons Kristian Wallace, Isaiah Everette, and Ezekiel (Zeke) Hargraves, his great grandsons Sayge, Dextyn and Aybel, and his great granddaughter Amythest, many nieces, nephews, sister in laws that he loved so much and friends that were family to him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Audrey and his father Bob.
In lieu of flowers the family has set up a donation site to cover expenses to honor his wishes of cremation, cover costs of travel for the family to get to Oregon and the celebration of life. Donations can be given at https://everloved.com/life-of/steven-wallace/?flow=264
There will be a private close family service to spread his ashes as requested. There will be a celebration of life Sunday, September 6, 2026 at 3pm at Merlin Community Center, 100 Acorn St, Merlin, OR 97532.
Friends and family are welcome, the family would like everyone to wear Oregon ducks attire or green and yellow as Steve always said "Go Ducks".
