It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William James Biggs, a loving husband, devoted father, and esteemed veteran of the United States Navy. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio on February 4, 1939, William passed away on March 16, 2024, at his home in Grants Pass, Oregon, at the age of 85.

William's distinguished career in the Navy spanned nearly two decades, culminating in his honorable discharge in 1977 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. As a Vietnam War veteran, he was awarded the Combat Air Medal for his exemplary service to his country. After his military service, William dedicated himself to a fulfilling career, spending 20 years at Lockheed Aircraft Company followed by another 20 years as an Electronics Instructor at Rogue Community College, where he inspired countless students.

William was an avid pilot, a respected instructor, and a loving family man. He married his beloved wife, Eileen Marie Biggs (Locke) in St. John's, Newfoundland, and together they raised three children: William "Randy" Biggs, Eileen "Shelley" Biggs, and Dana "Dinky" Biggs. An active member of the Civil Air Patrol in Hawaii and Oregon, William also found joy in pursuits such as reading, scuba diving, and boating.
