William “Bill†Edwin Thatcher Jr., 84, of Grants Pass passed away Monday, October 19, 2020, at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Hospital in Medford, Oregon.
Bill was born September 12, 1936, in Gardenia, California, to William (Ed) E. Thatcher Sr. and Bes Thatcher (Hugheson) but he grew up in Hugo, Oregon. Once out of high school, Bill got to see the world serving four years in the U.S. Navy as Chief Clerk on an aircraft carrier. Later in life, he retired from William Lovelace Construction. He loved his work! Bill also loved fishing, camping, hunting, and woodworking.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William Sr and Bess Thatcher; and his sister, Joyce Dollerhyde.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Moore; son, Mike Thatcher; daughter, Sandi Cooper; and stepdaughter, Sheryl Nelson.
Per his final wish, his Celebration of Life will be held next summer in July of 2021 at Lemolo Lake.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
