February 13, 1951 — July 28, 2025

Grants Pass, Oregon

Willis, 74, of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away at his home Monday, July 28, 2025. A service will be held at Stephens Family Chapel on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm.

Willis Ray Wormuth was born February 13, 1951, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to Vernon and Marjorie Wormuth. Willis was raised as the middle son with an older Sister and a younger Brother in Washington State. He graduated from East Valley High School in Spokane, Washington.

In 1971, he met and married the love of his life, Carol McEachran, and they had four children.

As a young man, he held various jobs, including working in the timber industry and produce department at the grocery store.

At age 31, he went to Preston Road School of Preaching in Dallas, Texas from 1981-1983.

He spread the word of the Gospel as a Minister for 43 years to many Congregations throughout Oregon and Washington. Medford Church of Christ was his first location, and he then relocated his family to Pateros, Washington to continue his work. In 1993, Willis decided to come back to Oregon with the opportunity to Preach in Grants Pass at the Savage Street Church of Christ location. While preaching in Grants Pass, Willis also was presented with the opportunity to make trips to India and, during those missions, he was teaching the Brethren the word of God. After several years in Grants Pass, Willis resigned as the Minister at Savage Street, and afterwards worked several years at Metal Masters while filling in as the Minister when congregations needed his service. The Lord then needed his work to be served in Gold Beach, Oregon, with his final preaching location at Rogue River Church of Christ.

Willis enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, fishing with his beloved wife, Carol, spending time with his kids and grandkids, watching the Rodeo with his Great Grandson, Oliver, and especially having a home-cooked meal from the love of his life of 54 years.

Survivors include his Wife, Carol Wormuth (Grants Pass, OR); Daughter, Kimberly and Mike Emmons (Spring Lake, NC); Son, George and Missy Wormuth (Grants Pass, OR); Daughter Rebecca and Edwin Giraldo (Richlands, NC); Daughter, Ruth and Adam Price (Grants Pass, OR); Sister, Elizabeth and Jerry Young (Newport, OR); 11 Grandchildren; and 1 Great Grandson.

Willis was preceded in death by his Father, Vernon; Mother, Marjorie; and Brother, Willard.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to please send offerings to the Rogue River Church of Christ at 1775 E Evans Creek Road, Rogue River OR 97537.
