Mary Florence (Nash) Storie

July 29, 1947 ~ October 18, 2020 (age 73)


Mary Storie passed away on Sunday October 18, 2020 at the age of 73.

Mary is survived by her brothers Butch Nash and Larry Nash, two of her children Michelle Storie and Keith Storie, and her grandchildren Ashley Storie, Cameron Storie, and Kimberly Jones. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Jesse Nash, and her son Timothy Storie.

After being born in and spending much of her youth in De Soto, Missouri, the Nash family moved to Tehachapi, California where Mary spent her high school years. Mary married her high school sweetheart Howard Storie and had three children. Mary and her family moved to Southern Oregon to raise their children near Murphy, Oregon. She spent her career as a teacher’s assistant at Madrona elementary school. In her spare time, Mary volunteered with the Josephine County 4-H program for many decades, spending 29 years as the superintendent for the sheep livestock program for the county fair. She cherished spending her retirement years with her grandchildren.

Mary will be most remembered for her contributions at helping children learn and become future contributors to the community.

Services will be held at 10am on Saturday October 31, 2020 at Stephens Family Chapel.

In lieu of sending flowers or cards, the family would prefer a charitable donation be made to the Joesphine County 4-H program. Checks can be made out to Josephine County 4-H Association, with In Memory of Mary Storie in the “memo” line, and mailed to Josephine County 4-H Association, 215 Ringuette St., Grants Pass, OR 97527. Donations will go towards a college scholarship for graduating 4-H members as a remembrance of Mary’s contribution to educating children and supporting 4-H over the decades.
