Obituary

 

William Alan Locke, 84, of Merlin, OR, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at his residence.

Born March 3, 1937, to Charles Van Wilson Locke and LuCelia Mabel Locke (Robinson) in Albany, CA.

William grew up and attended schools in Mendocino, CA. He attended St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA.

In 1957, before he went into the Army, he married high school sweetheart, June Valentine.

While in the Army, he set up new bases in Okinawa and was a Nike Hercules Missile technician.

In 1960 he joined the CA National Guard and worked on sites in the CA bay area for 13 years.

After the missile sites closed in 1992, he moved to Pt Arena, CA,

and was in civil service at the Air Force base.

He retired at age 55 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, rock hounding, golfing,

and square dancing. He was a member of the Lions and the Grange.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and LuCelia,

and his brother, Wilson. He is survived by his wife, June;

sons, Andrew (Denise) and Robert (Nicole); daughter, Rebecca (Adrian);

6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

 

A private celebration of life is to be held at the family's residence Friday, June 11, 2021, at 3 PM.
